Compassion from the Inside Out

(Relating to yourself and others with an open heart)

Cost:  $149.00; Early bird price is $139.00, if you register before February 5th.

Learn how to:

Deepen your capacity for self-connection and self empathy.  Identify and center yourself in what is most important to you first, so you can dialogue with others from your center and with kindness.  Hear what is really going on with others, no matter how they are expressing.  Speak your truth with clarity and confidence.  Calm and center yourself when you are triggered.

This foundational level training covers the basic skills, concepts and consciousness of Nonviolent Communication.  Drawing on the Living Compassion work of CNVC trainer Robert Gonzales, mindfulness practice and Eugene Gendlin's Focusing, we will emphasize the body felt experience of needs, the heart of the NVC process.

Dances of Universal Peace

Meets at The Meditation Place

Meeting Sunday, January 18, February 15; 4 to 6 PM

Next Dance is the third Sunday of each month, unless otherwise noted.

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances that use sacred phrases, chants, music and movements from the many spiritual traditions of the earth to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and recognize it in others. The Dances promote peace and integration within individuals and understanding and connection within groups worldwide. There are no performers nor audience: new arrivals and old hands form the circle as everyone sings and dances together. Jen Friedman and Britt Ripley lead a warm and welcoming Dance circle that invites us into a rich contemplative experience while also creating space for us not to take ourselves too seriously; encouraging open and heartfelt connection to arise naturally within the group. To learn more, please contact Jen at 303-746-5191 or jennifer@jenniferfriedman.com

Community HU Chant

Friday, January 16, February 20; from 7:00 to 8:00 PM.

Third Friday of each month, unless otherwise noted.

The Community HU Chant is a gathering to sing this ancient love song to God. It’s simply for the spiritual uplifting of those who come and is not directed to any other purpose. There will be a brief introduction before the 20 minute HU Chant, and a five minute contemplation. Light refreshments will follow.

SoundHeals Holistic Health

presents the healing vibrations of

Crystal Singing Bowls

The 4th Saturday of each month, unless otherwise noted.

The Healing Sounds of Crystal Singing Bowls

When: 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, February 28th

Where: The Meditation Place, 940 Kimbark Street, Longmont.

Christina Hildebrandt of SoundHeals Holistic Health presents the healing tones of crystal singing bowls in the beautiful Meditation Place!

The vibrations produced by the bowls create an opportunity for relaxation and subtle shifts in our psyches and bodies; participants may sit, lie or stand to receive this sonic bath!  There are chairs and meditation cushions at The Meditation Place; feel free to bring your own blanket or mat to ensure your comfort on the wood floor. This is a free event, although donations are appreciated!

Contact me to experience this peaceful, expansive feeling in your home or in my studio as a private session; studio rates apply. I also offer my singing bowls to groups as a shared experience at your healing center or even office!  Please send this to a friend who could use some relaxation: it's my desire to help relieve stress and pain, so our spirits can soar!

Charitable Giving

It brings me great pleasure to bring the Meditation Place into it's fifth year.  However, pleasure doesn’t pay the bills.  The Meditation Place is a non-profit, run solely by volunteer labor.  Currently space rental income runs about $2000/year short of operating expenses.  We have been making this up through charitable contributions.  I was not able to send out a year end fundraising letter this year.  So please consider donating to The Meditation Place through the PayPal link on our web site: themeditationplace.org, or by mailing a contribution to The Meditation Place, 940 Kimbark #4, Longmont CO 80501, or dropping a check off in the basket next time you visit.  You will receive a thank you note and good karma for your donation.
